Virologist believe that they detect this Pathogen in,
Chiropteran and Serpents and from there it has shifted into the mortal frame. This Pathogen is a strengthened variant of its predecessors we are acquainted with the name of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Problem) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), an infection’s which influenced an abundance of lives back then in Spain in 1918 and nearly wiped out the entire populace of the earth. The exciting fact is that it’s not an unfamiliar type pathogen, this bug has been here always and somewhere in the course of our life we might have come across this “virus” we are talking about. After it originated in that county, it immediately took aggressive actions at the start of the surge like shutting down transportation, schools and industries and isolating sick people and building dedicated hospitals to treat people afflicted with the virus which allowed them to achieve declining numbers of fresh causes of infections as showed by the WHO officials.
Now the WHO says the epicentre of the pandemic is in Europe which has more events mentioned each time than China did at the height of the storm especially in the US where New York has significantly the highest number of noted events being registered. The condition is revealed to be a respiratory tract infection. It can disturb your upper respiratory portion(sinuses, nose, and larynx)or lower respiratory portion (larynx and the Lungs). The mechanism of its transmission is through droplets as suggested by the experts and mainly through person to person contact. The effect of its contagiousness can be mere to severe. The coronavirus is one of the seven types of viruses, including the MERS and sudden acute respiratory syndrome SARS. The other viruses cause most of the colds that affect us throughout the year but cant be a serious threat to an otherwise healthy person. The Virus is highly contagious, Its incubation period is almost for about 3 to 4 days to about 14 days period, that means, you’re a carrier of this very pathogen and don"t even know till the third day you had started getting symptoms. The risk factor regarding this virus is that till the 3rd day you already know, you had infected four individuals and that four individuals are gonna repeat the same process making it to be geometric progression which is very hard to stop.
Rate of Transmission of this Virus
SARS-Cov-2 is a virus that mainly spreads from person-to-person contact. The mode of transmission of this virus is through droplets (like your Saliva or Cough or even your mucus), i.e. when a sick person sneezes or coughs he eventually releases droplets which act as a mode of transmission for the pathogen. The biggest problem regarding this virus is that a person can be asymptomatic and still have the virus within him and therefore can spread it. You can also get this virus from touching an object i.e. a doorknob if it contains the virus, and eventually, when you put that same hand in your mouth or nose, you end up getting yourself infected. A virus can last on a surface for several hours. Studies have shown that it can last on : Copper:4 Hours Cardboard 24 hrs Plastic or stainless Steel:2 to 3 Days That’s why its important to get rid of the surfaces to disinfect the virus Each sick person will go on to infect on an average between 1.4 and 2.5 additional people says the WHO. Those numbers are called the( R0) (pronounced"R-naught") it’s a mathematical representation of the type infection rate like as to how much it can spread. The higher the number the easier for it is to spread, but that doesn’t mean that each sick person will infect that many people. Quarantines and other Social distancing methods if used properly can bring down the number to how much a sick person can infect.
Do we have a Solution?
There aren’t any proven treatments for COVID-19, but there are dozens of studies underway to find some. In the forefront of all these medical studies is Remdesivir, an antiviral medication originally developed to treat Ebola. While there is a lot of hype around the anti-malarial medication chloroquine, but there is still no evidence regarding it or any other drug that works. Scientist working in a broad spectrum can combat all the coronaviruses identifies a target - a “main protease” that is essential for viral replication. According to the team of researchers enteroviruses such as those causing foot and mouth disease and the common cold also have a similar protein called the 3C protease for viral replication, so it can be treated through this target. Researchers at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) explored the B cell and the T -cell spike and the nucleoplasm protein epitomes that arise in response to SARS-CoV-2 which causes the diseases to find the biomarkers that could be incorporated into the vaccine to trigger an immune response to SARS-CoV-2. According to the scientist, no mutations have been observed in the SARS-CoV-2 epitomes they have highlighted so far that can be targeted to offer protection against COVID-19. The first human trial for a vaccine was announced last month by scientists at a lab in US City of Seattle. They have taken the unusual step of Skipping any research to test the vaccine’s safety for effectiveness. One more study is picking up progress where the Australian scientists have begun injecting ferrets with two potential vaccines, researchers say that they hope to move to human testing phase by the end of April. Though this type of test is picking up progressions, the scientist believes that even if a solution is found, mass production of it will not be before the second half of 2021. Doctors are currently testing existing antiviral drugs to see if they work against coronavirus. Clinical trials are already in progress in many parts of the world. Although Remdesivir has shown to have a positive outcome. There was much hope regarding a pair of HIV drugs (lopinavir and ritonavir) but the trial data are disappointing. Studies have also shown that an anti-malarial drug called chloroquine can kill the virus but test so far has been conducted in labs so!! However, the WHO says that there is no definitive evidence of its effectiveness.
How Do We Protect Ourselves?
Well! Stay at home as much as possible, especially if are feeling sick. Even if you are not sick, stay at home. Evidence suggests that people can have the virus and still show no symptoms (asymptomatic). If you are a healthy person, you might feel very sick if you catch COVID-19. If after having the virus inside you, you refuse to stay indoors chances are you are going to pass on this very virus to an elderly person with a chronic health condition, who is more likely to die because of you. The best way to slow down its contagiousness is the method of"social distancing", that gives the virus a lot lesser chance to spread and mutate itself and eventually help in slowing down the impact of the virus. If fewer people get sick at once, it’s easier for healthcare providers to give everyone good care.
The Vaccine!.......#SOCIAL DISTANCING
What is Social distancing? Social distancing is also called the “physical distancing”, means keeping space between yourself and the others outside your home. What you need to do for that: Stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from the people Do not gather in groups Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings In addition to all of this keeping, a safe distance is one of the best tools to avoid being exposed to the virus and slowing its spread across the country or locally. COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are on contact with each other for a while. It happens when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or by any means releases droplets into the air that lands on another person not infected or somehow he inhales the air through his lungs. It may also be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or an object that has the virus on it. Tips for Social Distancing There are some tips that u can follow : My Message: Well, I might sound harsh, but it needs to be said. Are we never gonna be sensible ever, we have seen the drastic effects of the healthcare industry in China, Italy and the US. The big countries have so much to offer regarding healthcare services still they have failed miserably and have appealed us repeatedly to learn from their mistakes. The fact of the matter is, Our country(India) doesn’t have that infrastructure to support that many patients, largely because of the size of the population thanks to us. Can you imagine what will happen if once it reaches the fearful state of “phase 3”? Can you?. It will be an Apocalypse,#Judgement Day that’s the worst-case scenario. Governments are trying hard to contain the situation, Police personnel are working day and day out, Health care professionals are giving their 100 per cent for what? The answer is To Save Us! They are risking their lives to save us, don’t you think we also have a responsibility towards them by not being an extra burden on them, Let them take care of those patients that needs help. I think we do!. It breaks my heart to see people joining on the streets and celebrate with utensils and firecrackers when the Prime Minister has requested to stay indoors and just motivate them(People fighting for us ), One simple question was it really necessary? Are we that dumb to understand the seriousness of this situation, I don’t think so! We are a lot smarter than that. I know its a test of time for all of us, the whole world is fighting let’s stand together and support our fighters in fighting this deadly virus, be their driving force, not their baggage. We can stop it, if not for anything at least think about your families your children, your parents, don’t you think they deserve to live. It’s high time you think about it. Lastly, I would say, I don’t know how long will it take for the vaccine to reach us, but till then some words from my fellow citizens. Please let us make this earth beautiful all over again, we don’t need guns, bullets and politics, we only need to have feelings, cos that’s what makes us Human.
